One Night With The King

Today, I watched "One Night With The King" for the umpteenth time with Tyrell. (if you haven't seen the movie, read the book of Esther first, then watch it!!!) It's the extraordinary story of how God placed Esther as King Xerxes' queen to shift the atmosphere and deliver His people. God placed her in a position in which she had a direct influence on the king and on the people of Susa.

I know that God has placed me in two specific places to be an atmosphere changer; not because of who I am, but because God wants to pour out His Spirit on those "dry bones". In those times, if you were to approach the king un-summoned or uninvited, you were put to death right then and there; however God placed Esther in position as queen to change the atmosphere. Though her physical being was afraid, she BELIEVED in the Most High God to deliver her people; though she was fearful, she still was faithful to His word. Though you may be misunderstood and afraid of what people may say/think/do to you, know it's because you're set apart to shift the atmosphere! God is bigger than our fears.

Remember the story of Jeremiah? Jeremiah was called and set apart to be a prophet to the nations; to pluck up and break down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and plant. Jeremiah's excuse was he was too young; God wasn't having it! Whatever excuses you think are acceptable to not do God's will not suffice. Just as God spoke to Jeremiah in chapter 1:11-12, He is waiting for His word to perform through you!!

Be Anxious For Nothing

Day 1 was a wake up call.
I found myself worrying about my sources today, meaning money. As I sat down at lunch at one of my fave restaurants, I pulled up the calculator on my phone and began adding, subtracting, & multiplying the figures of my monthly income to the figures of my bills this month. Finding myself dissatisfied with what I concluded, I just gave up trying to figure it out.

I believe God gives us days like this to remind us that HE is our source; our financial advisor, our therapist, our loan officer without the deadly interest rates. He reminded me of when He spoke to the disciples during the sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6:25-34. We often quote the infamous verse 33: "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you", yet when it's time for His word to perform, we grow afraid. But truly seeking His kingdom first is to release your cares and worries of your personal kingdom (with a little 'k') allotting HIM to be the center of your day. All you can be concerned with is the moment you have right now and focusing in being the best worshiper that you can be TODAY. God knows what we need, when we need it, and how we need it every single time!

Seek His Kingdom first by giving Him yours!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7
